Master Sergeant Dominic Marconi enlisted in the U.S. Army in September 1996, as an 11M Mechanized Infantryman. After completing One-Station Unit Training at Fort Benning Georgia, he completed one assignment in Vilseck, Germany, with a deployment to Bosnia before transitioning to the 401st Chemical Battalion in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2007, he reenlisted to serve as a 68K Medical Laboratory Specialist.

Master Sergeant Marconi most recently served as the Foundational Sciences Senior Medical Laboratory Noncommissioned Officer for the U.S. Army Research Institute of Infectious Disease, a subordinate command of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command, at Fort Detrick, Maryland. Prior to that, he served as the Senior Healthcare NCO for the 21st Theater Sustainment Command Office of the Surgeon, Germany; Detachment Sergeant for the 254th Combat and Operational Stress Control; Clinical Pathology Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas; Phase II Senior Instructor/Writer where he oversaw the Army's largest 68K phase II training site; Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe Healthcare Facility laboratory NCOIC; and Tripler Army Medical Center Blood Donor Center NCOIC in Honolulu. Hawaii.

Master Sergeant Marconi's military and civilian education includes the Master Leaders Course, Company Commander/First Sergeant Course, Battle Staff NCO, SHARP Foundations, Equal Opportunity, Joint Medical Executive Skills Institute Healthcare Management, Combat Stress Control, and the Training Education Development Middle Managers Course. Master Sergeant Marconi holds an Associates of Science degree in Health Sciences through George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and maintains his Medical Laboratory Technician certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology.

His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (2 OLC), Achievement Medal (OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th knot), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Armed Forces Service Ribbon, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (numeral 4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas service Ribbon (numeral 4), and the NATO Medal. His unit awards include the Army Superior Unit Award (2 OLC), and a Meritorious Unit Citation. Master Sergeant Marconi was inducted into the Official Order of Military Medical Merit.
